Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns) is a memoir by Mindy Kaling. She is best known for her role as Kelly on The Office but she's also a sometimes writer/producer/director of The Office and many other projects. I've also seen commercials for a new show she's on this fall but I can't remember what it's called and I am too lazy to Google it.
So, this memoir is about Kaling growing up as an Indian child in America and her many awkward years. She chronicles her start (and false starts) in the entertainment biz and how she manages to develop her style of comedic writing and acting. Kaling also shares other musings on topics such as: relationships with men and friends, family, her childhood and much more.
I was sort of skeptical about the level of humor in this one but I thought it was really funny. Kaling is extremely relatable and has great quips and one liners that kept me rolling. Sorry this is a brief review but it was a short and fun read. If you're looking for a laugh, give this a try!
